The last few days of the Year

The last few days of 2021
I wish that the twinkling stars and Christmas tree lights could stay up until the end of March when the clocks jump forward into Spring. Who else agrees?

Over Christmas & Boxing Day I went on a few walks to get some fresh air and also to enjoy the twinkling lights and decorations around the area.

A few of the lovely lights seen on our walk over Christmas.

J cat not too impressed with his ribbon!
Z cat waiting for his Christmas dinner!

A short video of the lights on our walk.

Boxing Day

S e a s o n s’ g r e e t i n g s

Well I hoped you all survived Christmas?
Let me know how you spent it and what was your best & worst present?

This image popped up on my timeline the other day so I thought I would share it on here. I created this with several of my photographs layered over each other. They can be very time consuming to make so I have not created many in 2021 but hopefully will have more time to create a few more in 2022.

Did you know that Boxing Day got its name when Queen Victoria was on the throne in the 1800s and has nothing to do with the sport of boxing.

The name comes from a time when the rich used to box up gifts to give to the poor.

Boxing Day was traditionally a day off for servants, and the day when they received a special Christmas box from their masters.

The servants would also go home on Boxing Day to give Christmas boxes to their families.

Nowadays shops are all open on Boxing Day and it’s like Christmas has been forgotten already!

Christmas Eve

Have a peaceful Christmas Eve

How will you be celebrating Christmas Eve? I shall be sat in front of the fire with a glass of wine or I may even go and have a glass in the village pub! Whatever you do have a lovely evening and stop worrying about cooking the turkey!

Racing towards Christmas!

Here we are. Another weekend. Another week nearer to Christmas.

I keep coming home from work and adding a few more decorations to the house. At the moment Z cat does not seem very interested in the tree and I have kept tinsel to a minimum this year!

I don’t think that the weather can make it’s mind up this week. It’s either wet & mild or cold and frosty. I don’t know about you but i would love a white Christmas (as long as I don’t have leave the house!)

A New Week

Good morning

Another week, where are they going?!

Not much photography done this week again, I think we need a touch more of the white stuff so I can go out and take some wintery shots.

Are you all ready for the festive season? I actually put my tree up this weekend so a few images will come later on.

Monday. On the mend

Monday morning here again, another (and hopefully my last) of being off with Covid. Got the all clear with my (two) LFT this morning so fingers crossed back to work tomorrow.

I’m still full of cold, no taste or smell and chest a bit wheezy this morning but if I take it nice and slow all week there’s another weekend there waiting for me!

Deep Winter

Thought I would show one of my Winter fine art composites from last year – this was made with many layers on PhotoShop. Yes, the rabbit is (was) a real rabbit that a photographed on a hill near me, funnily enough called Bunny Hill! The top header picture is actually part of Bunny Hill!

The Christmas craft fair at No3 went great – I sold my friend sold quite a lot of cards. I don’t know what portion of stock I have left until I return to work tomorrow. So a big shout out to Nicola Harper Textiles Artist! (link to come soon).

The Weekend

Another busy day!

Today a bit of gardening. The cats are having a ball chasing leaves and exploring all the ‘new’ parts of the garden since I’ve cut back lots of plants!

A visit to the ever popular Living North exhibition had be drinking samples of rum, cocktails and wine at 11 o’clock in the morning! (Plus plenty of chocolate and biscuits).

The trees are looking stunning, All we needs is a huge gust of wind or a sharp front and most of the leaves will be on the floor.

More adventures tomorrow, a Textile exhibition and a Christmas Craft fair.
