Beastly Virus Update

Z cat

*UPDATE*

Turns out it is Covid – after a PCR test confirmed it.
Just recovering now, not got any smell or taste which is a pain but hopefully that will return.

Keep warm and safe – Storm Arwen (UK) will be upon us soon!

For the past few days I have been wiped out with the Flu. It’s not Covid as I’ve had 3 negative LFT. I’m longing to have the energy to to get out and to be back at work.

I will be missing out on my Christmas fairs at the weekend but you can still go along and make a purchase as my cards will still be on sale.

Bluebells New Edit

What a glorious day!As promised here’s a few photographs from my trip to one Bluebell patch in some woodland very near to where I live. It is so lovely to see a carpet of blue on a late afternoon dancing in the sunshine.

Bluebells Season II

It’s that time of year again! What am I talking about – Bluebells of course! A 2 minute video of woodland full of Bluebells. I made sure that I didn’t venture into the Bluebells as to not damage them. I’ll share with you some photographs from the day very soon – watch out for my […]

A touch of frost

Well, a bit of a shock to wake up to frost on Friday. A wake up call to the fact we are starting to go into colder months.

A touch of ice on fungi
J & Z cat enjoying the fire on a cold and noisy 5th November

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all those who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by the frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadows shall spring;
Renewed shall be blade that was broken,
The crownless again shall be king.

The Cat of the House

by Ford Madox Ford

Over the hearth with my 'minishing eyes I muse; until after

the last coal dies.

Every tunnel of the mouse,

every channel of the cricket,

I have smelt,

I have felt

the secret shifting of the mouldered rafter,

and heard

every bird in the thicket.

I see

you

Nightingale up in the tree!

I, born of a race of strange things,

of deserts, great temples, great kings,

in the hot sands where the nightingale never sings!

Cyanotype Cats

Name, png

For the past three days I have been isolating as I am having an operation today. My right arm. I am right handed. So, I have been busy making some new Cyanotypes which I have made one of them into a new card available in my Etsy Shop.

I have only made a few at the moment to see how they go. Take a look you might like them if you (or the card recipient) is a cat lover. Or you may want to frame one to hang on the wall.

Starting to change colour from light green to dark green
Washing and drying the Cyanotypes – Some have come out better than others but that is the
beauty of it – you never know what you are going to come out with!

Cats & Photography

A bit of a lazy day (sort of) on Friday. I set up my tripod & camera and linked it to my phone, so instead of stood behind the camera for hours on end I could just laze on my sun lounger, read a book and keep an eye out for butterflies.

…the only thing I could attract were some bees and my little ‘helpers!’

I’d seen the Common Blue Butterfly flying around and it had landed on my purple Verbena which looked stunning but as soon as I got the equipment up and ready the only thing I could attract were some bees and my little ‘helpers!’

I’ve a few more images to go through and a video I’d like to share so I’ll put that up later, hopefully before the weekend is over and as usually it’ll be a Part II.
